A few weeks after the National Cathedral Secretariat’s visited the Trinity United Church, Legon, the church has made a bountiful donation of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis in support of the completion of the National Cathedral. The donation was a commitment the church pledged during the visit.
On Sunday, August 28th, 2022, the National Cathedral Secretariat joined Trinity United Church Legon for worship. In addition, the secretariat was given the platform to educate the church on the National Cathedral Ghana project. In his speech, the Executive Director & Project Coordinator, Dr Paul Opoku-Mensah, dwelled on the theme " humility brings exaltation” using a scripture backing from James 4:6, where it read “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
He educated the congregation on the need to throw their weight behind the project, especially as Christians. He noted the following;
1. The National Cathedral will be a national monument that inserts the God factor and a monument which will serve as thanksgiving to God.
2. The Cathedral will provide an avenue and a platform for National worship
3. It will represent a symbol of the Christian presence and their contributions in this country
4. It will be a symbol of Christian unity and National cohesion.
After the sermon, he encouraged the congregation to support the National Cathedral project and make it a success.
